Background Beginning for Three Arches

3arches-back1.jpg  I'm starting another 8x10 piece with a 11x14 canvas background.  This time I began by laying down papers.  I could have developed a collage simply from here, but that's not what I have in mind.  I have a really cool piece of arched lace that I want to be the focus of the finished piece.  The next step is painting and unifying the background so that all of what you see now fades together.

I've just spent quite awhile here on your blog and I really love your work. I've always been a sewer, but not until recently have I started playing around with felt and trying to teach myself some basic embroidery stiches. Your own artwork is quite an inspiration. Glad to have found you!

Peace & Love.

Thanks Connie. That's wonderful to hear. I'm not a very good sewer, a basic pillow is about the limits of my skill there, but I do love embroidery, even though I'm doing it less of it right now as some of the other artforms are more immediate gratification.
