Arrived at QSDS!

QSDS 2007 I'm here! An hour and a half north to pick up my carpooler and roommate, Tina Marie Rey, and then eight and a half hours west to reach Columbus, Ohio. It was a long day, but, oh, I was so glad I didn't have to drive it all by myself. We definitely filled up the car, though. This is both Tina's stuff and my stuff inside of a Saturn Vue.
The trip went well and we were able to register and get our badges as soon as we hit the hotel. Luckily, we could leave our art stuff in our respective classrooms and only take the actual luggage upstairs. This meant we didn't have to hauld it back downstairs tomorrow morning! We got nifty little neck pouches with our name badges, which had little stickers indicating which meals and all we'd paid for. We also received a nice QSDS totebag with information about the area and the art exhibits inside.
The only bad part was we arrived only just in time to make the evening lecture by Gayle Pritchard, which I'll talk about later. The room it was held in was very distracting though. All of the decorated yardage was hung along the walls on interesting triangle shaped supports and the small quilts for the silent auction were available to view at the back. I'm tired and suspect I'll be crashing early tonight, but I'm definitely looking forward to tomorrow.
