Couching - A Few Silk ATCs

I love couching, you can do so many wonderful things with it. I just have a tendency to forget to use something other than straight stitches. For this week's Take a Stitch Tuesday I worked on a few atcs for a silk-themed swap.
On the left we have a silk ribbon held down with chevron stitch and then some roving couched with straight stitch. In the middle is some silk tussah and half a silk cocoon. That was all done with straight stitch. I love the look on the right side where the fibers align themselves under the thread. On the right are some silk leftover bits, similar to roving, held down by fly stitches, although the stitches are rather lost because of the color of the thread. I echoed some of them onto the background. The black fabric is cut from an old silk shirt I had that died a horrible death.
