Watercolor Crayon Monotypes - Part 3

Next I tried double printing abstracts, which produced some really interesting effects.  I drew one pattern, as you can see on the right.  I printed the image once, as described before, then rotated the paper 180 degrees and printed it again.  I only used the brayer lightly both times, but it picked up the pigment nicely.  I like the concept of having the print being distinctly different from the plate image.  I'm not sure how this would work with representational pieces, though.

For reference, the top is Gemini 140lb Rough and the bottom is Cold Press.  In this case, I didn't see much difference between the papers when I printed from them, but could tell the difference as I moved the paint around on them afterwards.  The pigment flowed more smoothly on the Cold Press.
