I have a couple scary, ambitious, overarching goals that these support. They scare me enough that I'm not entirely sure I want to lay claim to them without waiting to see if they're possible, and I'm really not sure they are within a year. I'd like to build enough of a reputation to have an exhibit of my 2006 Daily Devotions work sometime in 2007. Even if it is just enough of a reputation to rent the local art center's space for a weekend and be able to get people to come. Of course, the quality of the featured art will need to improve as well... And I'd like to make my art financially self-supporting, first in regards to business expenses, then in regards to supplies, then in regards to classes and other learning opportunities.
Yep, writing them down didn't make them any less scary. Especially since I know there may be some things coming up this year that will shift my focus away. But my numbered goals will lead me in this direction. And those too can be broken up into specific smaller steps. For example, the showing and selling ones imply a certain quantity and type of production that I haven't laid out in ths entry. So we'll see where my steps take me.
